Inequalities

Societies are usually formed and characterized to have divisions such as the class status; the upper,middle and the lower class wherein a family/individual was classified based on their status or wealth in life. We experienced inequality many times in our lives as for me I do experienced one of those way back in high school. The social inequality amongst students that comes from different social status is very seen. Students who have means to join the special educational trips like field trip and camping the costs much for a daily needs of a regular students is much more accompanied and will gets a higher grades multiplied than those who can’t afford it. Those students who aren’t able to join like me, needs to double our effort in academic for us to have a higher grades in return of not attending those trips that have “plus points” in exchange as per the school stuffs told us to join. Those are just one example of many social inequality one individual may experience here in our society.

As for a student who experienced inequality at school regards the social status in life, for me amongst the UN’s Goal 10 Targets the most applicable here in be our country is the 10.2 and the 10.3 goals stating;

“10.2 By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status”
10.3 Ensure equal opportunity and reduce inequalities of outcome, including by eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices and promoting appropriate legislation, policies and action in this regard”

These two(2) goals will summarize and wil l be a big help on reducing the inequality among different social stratifications one individual might encounter. With a goals like this ensuring the equal opportunity on any level of the society no matter what race they came from; or the level of their social class; or neither their gender, religion or ethnicity, age, and and social mobilities will lead to the decreasing number of inequalities they might experience. With a wide range of open conversation regarding on the distribution of equal opportunity to all may also open to a more unified nation and decrease the possibility of diversion in the society in many levels. This will perpetuate the cycle of inequalities here in the Philippines and will lead to a growth of the rift between the people.
